RE: Lab Greading - Tasks that has dependency on the completion

Truly excellent questions, and I do not believe anyone on this list can answer firmly YES or NO. This is because no one on this list actually composed the Grading Script that will be used to initially grade you exam.

If you look at Scenario 2, the grading script might be coded so that if Task 1 is 0 - Task 2 is an immediate 0.

With that said, I would guess it works this way...the tasks tend to be more independent than not. For example, let's say in Scenario 2, you have no idea how to do Auto-RP. So instead, you statically configure the RP everywhere. While you do not deserve any points for this task, it should not effect your score in Task 2. And it is my belief that it WILL NOT!

This is a great thing to keep in mind. For core tasks (and we can consider 2.1 a core task for Multicast), make sure you get it working SOMEHOW!

I hope this post helps you!

Subject: Lab Greading - Tasks that has dependency on the completion of previous ones.

Quick questions. Thanks for your inputs.

Scenario 1:
-----------

Task 1:
Advertize VLAN 1, 2, 3 to IGP.

Task 2:
Redistribute IGP into BGP

If I do VLAN1&2, but miss VLAN3, I will loose all point for this task. If
all my config for Task2 is correct, will I get full mark for this task given
the fact that if they use "show ip route" on external BGP speaking routers,
they wont see subnet for VLAN3.

Scenario 2:
-----------

Task 1:
Configure multicast with Auto-RP

Task 2:
Configure your network so that all multicast traffic switches over to a
source based tree once the source is sending more than or equal to 128K.

If Task1 is not completed, ie RP is not elected and propagated properly,
there's no way the network works the way required in task2!

If my config for Task2 is correct, ie. on all multicast routers I put "ip
pim spt-threshold 128", should I be given points for this second task?

Cheers,
