This is true, and if you are going from one partner to another the rule
holds for that as well. From my understanding, all professional and
associate tracks can be moved right away, but I'm not aware if there might
be stipulations on this as well.

I work for a Cisco Gold Partner, and we have to pass an audit each year that
includes a summary of all our individuals + customer info + financial info.
I always have to perform a demo on one of our specializations as well.
