Hi Prateek,
Interesting article, but who do you think would be maintaining this 'grid'
or designing and implementing it in the first place...??? As with any grid,
this would need some sort of core which would possibly be composed of
high-speed links interconnecting some of the latest (and with extreme
computing power). The data still needs to be routed or switched... albeit a
lot faster or over different set of protocols. But technology evolves over
time and new protocols and services will keep replacing older ones...
remember 14.4k dialup modems??
So I think we are safe.. if the CCIE's from 10yrs+ are still here, we will
be too after another 15yrs... just more respected (hopefully!!)..
Though I doubt this would be global within our time... at this time its just
for research... the idea of using it for online gaming or sharing large
amounts of data is still some yrs away.. if not decades.
Just a thought... I would not mind not having to wait for my dvd's to arrive
my mail.... save up quote a few hrs in that wait..
