The published topology for the voice lab is based on three sites, which means three routers at least. Since you also need PSTN and WAN, you can either have a forth one or have many additional interfaces in one of them.
VIC2-xxx vs VIC-xxx is about the module and router that hosts it, if memory serves right the VIC2 are for the ISR family of routers (28xx,38xx). For more info go to:

Hi all
I would like to attain the CCIE voice. I would like to buy equipments for home lab. I would like to know how many routers (except Cat6k) need to use for home lab. Can anyone share the information.
Also I am confused for the following module
VIC2-2FXS & VIC-2FXS
VIC2-2FXO & VIC-2FXS
Are they the same function for doing CCIE voice lab or have Different.
