Hi Mohamed,
Enabling BPDU filtering on an interface is the same as disabling spanning
tree on it and can result in spanning-tree loops.
So I recommend you to solve the main problem, which is unidirectional link
failure (Just enable udld).

Subject: STP Question

Hi GS,

Let me know your opinions about the following task:

"We are concerned about alternate/root ports becoming designate ports
bacause
of
unidirectional link failure?
configure for maximum effect."

I found two ways to accomplish this:

1. Adding the spanning-tree Loopguard command under the altenate/root port
on
all the switches except the root.

2.Adding the spanning-tree loopguard default command in the gloabal
configuration mode on all the switches.

Regards,

Mohamed.
