512MB ram?

(you're joking right?)

My blackberry has more ram than that...

You're going to need a full 2GB MINIMUM to run the topology well.
Ghostios/sparsemem included.

A 10 device rack for the security IE uses quite a bit of ram, running just
12.2T IOS. The other night, my thinkpad got so hot I checked the warranty
registration just to be sure...

Subject: Server running Dynamips to build virtual rack

Hi All, Managed to salvage a Compaq Proliant DL380, with dual processors 1G,
memory 512MB from office. Intend run Dynampis and connect it to 2 x C3750
switches. Now the Compag Proliant comes with only 2 onboard NIC, one NIC is
meant for remote management, leaving only one left. I will need 12 ports on
the Server to build a lab based on InternetExpert topology. The Compaq
Proliant DL380 comes with 3 pci slots. The price of a "PCI 4-port ethernet
adapter ~$250" is a little too expensive for me. I am thinking to get 3 x
"PCI 4 Ports USB 2.0" cards, and from the USB ports, I will connect "USB 2.0
to LAN 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN RJ45 Adapter". Not too sure if this method
will work?

Cheers
Nit
