There are plenty of ideas in the archives about this... Each vendor has
it's ideas and strategies and recommended approach, remarkably they are all
similar in nature.
As for the advantages or disadvantages or timeframe for each, that is an
incredibly PERSONAL idea, and no matter who answers or what they come up
with it may or may not work for you based on your knowledge, experience, and
ability to learn new things (as well as a myriad of other factors).
So look at the vendor's approaches. Look at the one outlined on Cisco's
CCIE web site, and through that develop things that make sense to you.
More importantly, don't feel bad about CHANGING your approach based on
whether you think things make sense to you or not.
