I will anser you what I understand from your question. Dont know if this is
exactly what you want to so, anyway, If it is not, I hope it will help
anyone.

when you want to enable the router to send just a few selected traps, you
can enable the specific trap only.

for example, if we want to enable the router to send a snmp-trap about vtp
status only and nothing more:

sw1(config)#snmp-server enable traps vtp
sw1(config)#
sw1(config)#do show run | begin snmp-server
snmp-server enable traps vtp
