Yes sir. I was in exactly your position, Saturday, October 13, 2007.

I was in California having spent the previous Friday in the lab for my THIRD
attempt. I was SURE I passed. Then the email arrived at 6:10am advising me
my lab results were available online.

I didn't hesitate.

I didn't blink.

I logged into the Cisco site and requested a re-read... A few days later
hearing re-reads take up to 6 weeks, I scheduled my lab for 4 weeks later...

You need to find the little more inside you that makes a someone a CCIE.
Do you need to realize this MAY be the LAST great challenge of your life?
It is very expensive. It must be hard on your family. But NOTHING compares
to passing this thing. Since passing 3 months ago, my ONLY inclination is
getting MORE CCIE's!!!!

You're going to have to find out what you're made of. I recommend you do the
InternetworkExpert workbooks... Brian & Brian really have a teaching style
that helps you build fast and keep it.

Please stick with it. You never know what life holds for you. My best friend
in the world, my mother, passed away 2 weeks, 1 day after I passed the CCIE.
She lived down the road from you in Baltimore County. I drove up 95 from NC
all night (I got the pass email at 11:30pm). We fought all damn year to pass
that thing... I had breakfast with my family and then got back on the road
to head home to NYC. I'll never forget the last time I saw her smile it was
over this test.

Thanks,

Joe

Subject: Down for the count.....

Took the RS Lab for the 3rd time..no go.

I am getting to the point where all the time and money I am spending is out
weighing the reward here. Not to mention the family sacrifice that my wife
and kids are making to allow me the time to study. The frustration is
kicking in big time, I lab with Netmaster and IPExpert (this is not a knock
on them, they have been GREAT) but I am just missing something.

I have no one to study with because I live out in the middle of nowhere in
Northern Maryland, so I have to rely on what I read or do and have no one to
bounce it off of. I know I have the GS site, but that is not the same as
having a couple of study partners to work with on a topic over a weekend. I
am beginning to think that the "3 strikes you're out" rule is coming into
play.

I am not sure what else to do; is there anyone who can offer some assistance
here? Been in this position and made it? I just have had it with the long
drive down to RTP and back, spending $1500 (hotel cost and lab) for lunch
and getting pissed off at every return. I put in at least 4+ hours a day
studying and lab'ing. I have my own rack of equipment that I can access
from work, so when things are slow there, I am lab'ing.

Signed.

Frustrated to NO end.

JB
