Hi John,

When configurring aaa, once you bang in the command "aaa new model"
the router goes into "secure" mode and locks down the terminal lines
(console and VTY), by using the login local on each of them. Hence, if
you havent configured a local username and password on the router, you
would be locked out :)

Thats when the command you mentioned comes into play. By issuing it
right after putting in "aaa new-model", you open up the doors for
youself.

"aaa authentication login default none" now makes all local login to none.
