Once you get to a certain level there will always be someone trying to
pick you off. If you are always looking short term you will probably
make some bad career choices. I find that having 5, 3, and 1 year plans
really helps in defining the direction and choices you must make.

I suggest you do the same, really look at where you want to go. And if
going to another vendor, and fighting for the "other" 7% of the market
fits your plan, then go ahead.
