Paul thanks so much for groupstudy.

We really appreciate the channel and the constant flow of useful information
we receive.

Perhaps you should put a paypal link on your site to allow us to help you
diffuse some of these costs?

Subject: Slow deliver time issued

Hi Everyone,

Ok, I think I fixed the slow delivery time. The way the list server works,
a message arrives into GroupStudy and gets forwarded to a distribution
server. This particular server is in Texas. When the e-mail arrives in
Texas it is automatically queued. The Queue is processed in five minute
intervals by a daemon who forwards it to one of 400 sendmail processes for
delivery.

For whatever reason, the daemon was leaving the messages in the queue 24+
hours before forwarding to sendmail. I rebooted, turned the daemon off/on,
nothing worked. I eventually cleared out the queue and things are now
working better.

So please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

In October I purchased a new server to upgrade the Texas server, and this
will give me more incentive to get the new server installed. In the next
day or so, you will see GroupStudy go down for a few hours. You will also
see interruptions to the mailing list function as I upgrade the list
server/software. But afterward we will have a much more stable and robust
system.

Take care,

Paul Borghese
