Hello all,
i am running into a problem when configuring etherchannel on 3640s' NM-16ESW (actually dynamips, with IOS 12.4(7)). I saw the below post from Brian M. Accordingly I put "no switchport" on physical interface so that I can later put ip address on Po1 interface

Once i have put "no switchport" on a physical interface, i try to put "channel-group mode" command on the physical interface, but following msg is logged to console:
"Command rejected (Port-channel5): Either port is L2 and port-channel is L3, or vice-versa"
I have also tried it the other way around i.e. putting channel-group command while the physical int is still an L2 port.. but upon entering the no switchport command, the interface gets removed from the etherchannel bundle
Your inputs on this matter are highly appreciated..
