Hi Group, was just looking at catalyst QOS and would like to confirm that my
idea is correct:
-If i need to police one Trunk/Access port on a Switch then i can use an
aggregate policer or a policy map.>>>Here i have some missunderstanding: if
i want to limit the BW of the port and same time mark the packets
differently (IPprec, dscp) according to the vlan, or to some other condition
then i should use aa aggregate policer, but if i just want to police
according to BW then a policy map on the physical interface will do it<<<<<<
-If i need to police several ports on a switch in order to take some action
if the total BW reaches some predefined value, then i should use an
aggregate policer in order to aggregate the traffic from all ports.
- If i need to police the traffic coming into one vlan on several ports
(access & trunk) then i will do a vlan-based policer to match the traffic
coming into that vlan.
Can anybody confirm/correct these 3 points or add some extra conditions i
might have not seen?
