Maybe our friend is still too emotional, and could have conveyed his
product review in a different way, but
I definitely believe this is the right forum to offer reviews about
COMMERCIAL products which are offered. I don't think he is
unprofessional just for expressing his opinion about a PRODUCT, he paid
and didn't gave him what he expected. If someone bought the same product
and have a different review, I'd said such review should be welcomed as
well.

Be satisfied that you have passed with backing from your generous
employer.
There is no need to use your success as a vehicle for a diatribe against
a vendor that by all accounts has provided you with a good deal of
support. BT are a client of mine and this sort of behavior on the list
is unprofessional.
