Not network-specific (though often network-centric), if your tastes are
security-related, you could do a lot worse than following Richard Bejtlich
around in his readings. The guy reads more books a year than most people do
through high school (ok, softball there for any takers). He reads so much
that something in there has got to strike your fancy every month or two.

He has a blog too, quite active and detailed.

Here's another good security blog, more high-level.

Also, here's a blog from some guy I seem to remember hearing of somewhere ...

As for the original request for magazines, I gave up on those a long time ago.
I liked SysAdmin, but I drifted from the Unix arena (and they stopped printing
it).
With a few exceptions, secrecy is deeply incompatible with democracy and with
science.

Yup, I was in it too years ago still get the IPJ delivered. As for Packet,
don't they still publish the online version? Admittedly I don't have much
time these days for trade rags butlast I heard Packet was out there.

I was too! Majorly. It heralded the beginning of their major cost-cutting
campaign that we each have suffered under.

But as someone who was years ago published in the IP Journal (just a book
review), I guess I have to beg to differ on the "boring" part... ;~)
