usually the 2 do not mix as if you want to converge faster you need to
reduce the timers and if you want to avoid the flood you increase the timers
or even remove some of the less necessary flooding mechanism like flood
every 30 min

I suggest you read the full command reference of OSPF as this to are realy
the most simple configurations and if you want to prepare to the Lab you
should be very familiar with this command and also all the rest of them in
the command reference.
