This popped into my head as well. I have given up progressively more of my
life to studying, until I now go outside for about an hour per weekend, and
that's almost all to walk the dog. After doing that for a year or more,
stopping must be like walking out of a movie theater on a sunny day.
Personally I'm thinking of doing the tier-2 Juniper cert next (the one that
qualifies you for the JNCIP, which has a lab, and after that is the JNCIE,
also a lab). I don't know that I'll ever move past that as my wife might
actually shoot me. I've heard that the JNCIP and JNCIE are far more
straight-forward than the CCIE, but there are so few it's hard to gauge its
difficulty. I worked with a JNCIE who was a real cowboy and would bang on
things until they eventually worked, and I worked with a JNCIP who was
meticulous and precise. Jury is still out. JunOS is a lot of fun though.
Did I meander far enough off topic? :)
With a few exceptions, secrecy is deeply incompatible with democracy and with
science.
