Subject: How to save 'vlan' information on Dynamips running Switches
Hi Folks,
I'm using 'IEWB-RS-DYN-EL' for my CCIE R&S Lab preparatin. I'm facing
two problems here.
Question 1- How can I save the VLAN information on switches. As soon as
I reboot the switch all VLAN information deleted by self. Then I just
need to create the VLAN's again thru 'vlan database'. All interfaces
which I added in different VLAN's come online. Is there any way if we
could save the VLAN inforamtion on Switches running thru Dynamips.
Question 2- After completing the Task 1, I should be able to ping the
topology. But few of them doesn't ping. Here I'm referring to LAB01.
Connectivity is like:
## BB3 E0/0(204.12.1.254)<--> SW3 F1/0 (Vlan33)<-->SW1
F1/3(VLAN33)<-->204.12.1.3 E0/0 R3 ##
So BB3 and R3 are directly connected thru VLAN's. But few a times I'm
not able to ping between them. I also checked 'show ARP' but it show's
some times MAC, Incomeplet and sometimes it doesn't show the neighbor.
After reloading the switches and router it comes up, but for that I
struggle for 3-4 hours.
My query is: Is there any specific method to reboot the devices like if
we first boot Routers, Switches or Backbone routers?
Appreciate any help and thanks in advance.
