Hi ,
I have a question around Campus QoS , pertaining specifically to QoS on a
Tengigabit interface. Find enclosed a sample configuration:
interface TenGigabitEthernet2/1
switchport
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 5
switchport mode trunk
switchport nonegotiate
no ip address
wrr-queue bandwidth 5 25 10 10 10 5 5
wrr-queue queue-limit 5 25 10 10 10 5 5
wrr-queue cos-map 1 1 1
wrr-queue cos-map 2 1 0
wrr-queue cos-map 3 1 4
wrr-queue cos-map 4 1 2
wrr-queue cos-map 5 1 3
wrr-queue cos-map 6 1 6
wrr-queue cos-map 7 1 7
udld port aggressive
mls qos trust dscp
spanning-tree link-type point-to-point
My questions are as follows:
1. At what stage would the QoS be in effect, ie would QoS on the interface
only take effect in the event of congestion on the interface
2. Looking at the bandwidth statements , 5% of the bandwidth is allocated to
queue 1, 25 % to queue 2 ect , are these restrictions only in place if there
is congestion on the interface.
3. The "wrr-queue queue-limit 5 25 10 10 10 5 5 " defines the number of
packets held in each of the respective queues, if the number exceeds the
specified limit they are tail dropped ?
4. What happens with the above mentioned config if none of the traffic
received on the interface is marked ie 0 best-effort, what is the maximum
amount of bandwidth allowed.
Thanks
