The important areas? You kinda either know how it works or you don't. :)
There's no telling how things will be laid out. We know we have a chunk of
switches... You can presume that there are a myriad of links connecting
them together... Sooooooo... You can have a huge painful experience with
spanning tree, or you could have a bunch of L3 switchports.
CCIE Karma will tell you that if you don't study for it, you'll get screwed
by it somehow. :)
I don't know as I'd waste time with every single detail, but know the
election processes very well, and how to tweak timers pretty good. Beyond
that, know how/where to look things up!
