In my experience this offers the best performance:
- Run on 64 bit linux. Dynamips has a 64bit linux version.
- processor, memory, you want lots of both.
- Separate routers in the dynagen .NET file into multiple instances.
3-4 routers per instance.
For example, I am running the entire IE router lab (15 routers), on a
dual-core 3ghz, 4 gb of ram, and getting about 40% processor utilization
and good router response time.
