hehehe..very true. It all depends on what you want to do and what you are
prepared to do while doing it. Not all high paying gigs involve dark satanic
mills with evil bosses and people working under fear of the lash though. Some
have table tennis too! Culture doesn't necessarily mean you won't be rewarded
financially.

I pay a lot of attention to culture as I ended up at a Big Four consulting
firm due to not taking that into consideration. You spend too many hours per
week at a job to be miserable the entire time. I would rather have a mohawk
and conduct large-scale Nerf raids against the Linux team while driving my 96
Jetta than have to stay clean cut and polished while driving a new Lexus.
Besides, after this CCIE thingamajigger is done, even the low-end pay rate
isn't bad.
With a few exceptions, secrecy is deeply incompatible with democracy and
