Thanks all for your wishes.......

The materials I used are, CCIE exam guide, Jeff Doyle, CISCO IOS Cookbook from O'reilly, the lab workbook from internetwork expert and ofcourse finally the doccd. I would say I got enough confidence, only after going through all the commands listed in the command reference in the doccd. for switching, you wll not find a better material than the doccd.....
I used the CCIE exam guide and the doccd for covering the switching areas....topics in the doccd are well organized for the switching area....

Although I read all the above books to get the concepts, when I went through the command references section, and said to myself what each command is for, it re-assured my confidence on those areas.... similarly i went through each section in the configuration guide..... you may not remember all of the commands, but atleast it will leave you a slight trace in your mind that when you read some question in the exam, this trace may help you in getting the solution.... it happened to me twice in my lab experience....

so what ever the materials you follow, my suggestion is go through the config guide and command references in doccd atleast twice..... if you can do more times, please do..... but not sure how many will have the patience to go through this entire stuff..... i myself was restless when I was revising it for the second time..... as you go through them u will come to know certain commands or section are not related to the CCIE and u can skip it.............for e.g mpls related commands in bgp, ospf etc.... i omitted those areas.....

reg labs hands on, I used to take weekend full 8 hrs lab and practice the lab exercise....... over the weekdays i use dynamips to practice the concepts with small topology.... it really helped a lot..... dont worry if you are not able to complete the labs within time.... so far I could able to compelte only one full lab on my own.... i have failed in rest of them.. so dont get depressed if you couldn't make it thru in the practice labs...... keep practising and going through the same lab exercise more than once teaches you more tips and tricks and the questions twists.....

approximately I would have used around 300 hrs of lab time.... and another 200 hrs with dynamips....

HTH.... good luck...

cheers
Bhaskar
