You can teach yourself anything, given the talent, time, and tenacity.
You of all people should know that... (nice story on cisco about you btw)

If you're telling me the CCIE bootcamps are more CCIE's than corporate types
who come because they are not paying, than I would be interested.

(I'll get back to you on the trading models, I'm still in basic calculus,
but It's my new hobby to do this)

You are forgetting that it takes 4-8 years in school before you can start
building genome analyzing software. you're not going to find any self-taught
folks who can do quantative financial trading models :)
