Subject: Passed CCIE !!! CCIE # 19730

Dear All,

At last I passed yesterday. Dedicated study over the past one year and a
lot of help from friends and colleagues. At this point I would like to
specially thank Mr.Narbik Kocharian for his exceptional support from the
boot camp till the CCIE #.Thanks to Shahid (CCIE 19212) and Saud (CCIE
19200) for their great company.

I would like to present short review of the different resources i used
for preparation and my personal comments. I have been the member of this
group for the past 2 years (with a different ID) and read almost every
success story during this period. I helped to learn so many tricks :)

Is CCIE only the test of your knowledge? I really doubt. It is
knowlege,tip&tricks,pressure etc all together.

Below are the list of resources i used for preparation and my personal
comments.

DYNAMIPS: I did 90% of my CCIE preparation on Dynamips and 2 3550
switches . In the last two months i rented the racks 24/7 * 60 from
Narbik.

PDFCHM : A great site with almost all the recommended books from
different vendors. I used these books in my initial preparation.

SOUP to NUTS by Narbik Kocharians: A great book to lay your foundation.
If you need to fill in the gaps in individual technologies, please do
get it. Good starting point.

IE ADV TECH LABS: Great work done by Brians. Same as SOUP TO NUTS.
Except switching i did all the ADV TECH labs on Dynamips.

DOC CD: Everybody knows its imp.

ADVANCED CCIE ROUTING & SWITCHING WORKBOOK By Narbik Kocharian : Highly
recommended workbook. Narbik put a lot of effort in compiling this
workbook. The different thing about this workbook is a lot of
explanation. Trust me a lot of explanation. If u do this book cover to
cover u r 98% done with all the commands in Cisco Command Reference for
individual technologies. The book is updated regularly so you get
updates frequently on topics like QoS , Multicast, Security etc.

IE R&S Workbook v 4 : This product need no introduction. A very well
written workbook and the end labs are much tougher than what u should
expect in CCIE.

COD by BRIANS: Waooo. What should I say about this ?Brians u really know
the stuff. MUST TO BE A CCIE.

CBT Nuggets by Jeremy Cioara : it is just to lay ur foundation at
initial stages. I like the style this guy talks. Very friendly.

ADVANCED MOCK LABS by Narbik: Ready to accept challenges?

Bootcamp by Narbik Kocharian in Dubai: This made a huge difference in my
Knowledge. From very basic to the 007 stuff. The guy is really a GURU in
R&S.I would highly recommend anybody preparing for CCIE to take the boot
camp. As residents of Middle East region we normally face great
difficulty in finding good CCIE boot camps. It is a 5 and half day boot
camp with extensive hands on covering all the core and non-core topics.
All the core and non-core topics will be covered depending on your
strength and weaknesses.

Narbik is conducting these boot camps frequently in Dubai with a very
competitive price. Do check at www.MicronicsTraining.com
<http://www.micronicstraining.com/> for future courses.

In real exam u must read the questions very carefully ; they r tricky.
I passed in my second attempt. In my first attempt I was quiet confident
after finishing the exam but the score report presented a different
picture? In my next attempt I was extremely careful.

Wish u people best of luck.

Regards,

Nouman Ahmed Khan
