Frog,
Dot1x authentication does not require you to enable authentication
for login into the router. Feel free to enable "aaa authentication dot1x"
and it would not effect your login access to the router.However, if you do
plan to enable login authentication using the command "aaa authentication
Login" and are worried that you might get locked out because of some error,
you can always open up another telnet connection to the router before
testing your configuration via another connection(console or telnet), this
way if your configuration locks you out, you already have a connection to
the device before hand via telnet. There are other ways I could recommend
but this is the easiest and the fastest to configure.
