I had trouble a couple of months ago, trying to do labs from the IE workbook
vol 2 that I bought. It was taking me for ever to do a single lab, and I
decided to do what the Brians say in the strategy CoD is to fall back if
you're having trouble. So I decided to step back and learn the technologies
one by one again. I mean, I could do some of the lab, but some technologies
where taking me for ever.
First I used the DocCD and made my own labs and practiced. This was taking
for ever, but I was learning. Then I saw Narbik had a new technology focused
workbook. I bought that and did all the labs in that workbook making notes
and changing stuff around to see how things worked. This took a good month.
A couple of days ago and started back with the IE workbook vol 2, and was
able to get through the core topics in no time, and I didn't have to refer
to the DocCD.
Another problem I had was with QoS - Narbiks workbook fixed that for me. I
understand QoS now. I'll be honest I didn't understand Multicast from his
workbook, but that could me my fault. I was lazy and rushed through his
multicast section, but then when I was watching the IE CoD for multicast,
the hands I got form Narbiks workbook, helped me understand the CoD better.
I actually understand how to troubleshoot multicast now, and that might be
the reason I sometimes never got it to work when I was doing IE labs.
I have no idea about his bootcamp, but I've heard that he uses the same
workbook or material equivalent to the workbook he wrote and sells. And that
workbook is CCIE material for sure.
just my 2 cents.
PS: I have no affiliation with any of the vendors that I'm using except as a
happy customer so far.
