Tested with 2 interfaces in 2001::0/127 and 2001::1/127 and they can ping
each other fine.

What are the 2 addressess? I am assuming :2 and :3 or similar, hence it must
be /126 so that the 2 IP's would be treated as within the same subnet.

Rack1R3#sh runn int e0/0
interface Ethernet0/0
 no ip address
 ipv6 address 2001::/127
end

Rack1R1#sh runn int fa0/0

interface FastEthernet0/0
 no ip address
ipv6 address 2001::1/127
end

Rack1R1#pi 2001::0

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 2001::, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 4/21/64 ms

Rack1R3#pi 2001::1

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 2001::1, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 4/18/48 ms

HTH,
Joseph.
