I recently moved from E2K to 2K7, spam levels went down almost to zero just
using the native feature.

If you are using E2K3 you could either use IMF, which is free and should
definitely help you with the incoming, for outgoing just use user level
authentication on your connector, that'll keep most malware from relaying on
your exchange, finally, make sure your firewalls only let smtp out from the
exchange server. Seen this in a few customers before, sometimes there's no
need to buy anything if you have enough time on your hands to configure the
built in features and the features that come within your software.

Check out msexchange.org for more info, many gurus on exchange there hanging
around the forums answering questions. HTH.
