>Do we need any PVLAN configurations for the trunk link?
Trunks carry pvlans like any other vlan. Private vlan status is not
replicated by vtp, so if a switch didn't have pvlan's configured it could
still carry the traffic... It's up to SW2 to have R1's port configured as
promiscuous...
So, on SW1 H1's port will be set as private vlan host, while SW2 will have
the same for H2. SW2 will have R1's port configured as private vlan
promiscuous.
The trunk between the switches will just be configured as any other trunk...
it will allow the private vlans...

Subject: PVLAN Question.
Hi Friends,
I have a question on PVLAN configuration.
My topology is as follows.
Sw1<---------->Sw2<-------->R1
| |
| |
H1 H2
Sw1 and Sw2 are connected via a trunk link.H1 and H2
are in isolated ports.Port that connects to R1 should
be promiscuous.
My question is,
1) Do we need any PVLAN configurations for the trunk
link?
2) In the trunk port I could see options for PVLAN
configuration.When should I use them.
Can someone please help me understand this.
Thanks,
Nambi
