GS,
I have some issues with my multicasting on Lab 8. Per 5.4, I'm pinging
from R5 vlan 52 to R4's fa0/0 that has joined 224.4.4.4: "ip igmp
join-group 224.4.4.4".
R5 and R4 are both frame-relay hubs off R1so I have added the "ip pim
nbma-mode" command on R1's s0/0. I'm confused about two things, at
least pertaining to this. First, when I ping the 224.4.4.4, the first
packet is successful and the rest fail. I think this has something to do
with the SPT switch over. The "show ip mroute" on R1 shows that the S,G
has been pruned. So R4 request to join the SPT tree and then prunes it?
Did I mention I was confused?
Second, why is my first icmp echo-reply showing a "dst" of 174.1.145.5
when I sourced from the fa0/1.52 whose ip address is 192.10.1.5? It
clearly stated that the packets would be sourced from 192.10.1.5. Does
any one have any thoughts on this? I feel like I'm hitting a big road
block, and I'm starting to go a little crackers.
