Subject: Router filtering mechanisms in RIP,EIGRP OSPF and BGP

Hi Group

I have jotted down the various router filtering mechanisms in various routing protocols. Is there any method I missed or anything wrong in my list.

Methods of route filtering in each routing protocol.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
RIP
- Offset-list
- distance
- distribute-list

EIGRP
- offset-list
- distribute-list - can reference route-maps as well, but set operations not allowed Set
operation is only allowed when referenced in re-distribution.
- distance

OSPF
- distribute-list - can reference route-maps as well, but set operations not allowed. Set
operation is only allowed when referenced in re-distribution
- distance
- area id filter-list

BGP
- route-maps
- distribute-list
- prefix-lists
- as filter-lists, suppress-maps etc

Thanks
bhaskar
