You don't need ATM switches for studying SP. In the future, you won't need
ATM at all, because MPLS cell-mode will surely go away. But if you are
studying cell-mode now, because it's in the lab, practice on Dynamips. If
you don't like Dynamips or don't have a machine to run it on, or if you
really want to use hardware, the cheapest way to study MPLS cell-mode is
with two 2610 routers ($50 each), two NM-1ATM-25 modules ($70 each), and
latest 12.3 enterprise image.
