RE: Best way to draw own Diagram....

You should do whatever is necessary to keep in line with your "normal"
method of doing a lab! As an example, I tend to be a very visual person, so
my diagrams may be more detailed than yours. Not to say either one is
better, but it just keeps in line with how my brain works, and everyone
should do the same!

I tend to focus on Layer3 (and up) stuff to remind myself of what's running
so that I don't forget when later tasks make changes. Other people I know
will draw full L2 diagrams to remind themselves of the path things take
physically.

Whatever makes sense to you, that's what you do! Play around with some
practice labs and try different diagramming methods. See which one works
best in your speed and/or lack of things missed.

I've been wondering about this as well. Specifically how much diagramming
should one do? Obviously we won't have time to sit and diagram every
scenario (one for BGP, one for OSPF, etc.), so is a good strategy to redraw
the L3 once and use different colors for protocols? And is it worth it to
redraw the IPs?

With a few exceptions, secrecy is deeply incompatible with democracy and
with science.
