One more point to add here is that OSPF too would have done the same
behavior as RIP if not configured with the Point-to-Multipoint option.

Hi Mike,
There is a basic deifference between RIP and OSPF P-2-M
When Configured OSPF P-2-M we don't need to map spoke to spoke because
spoke communicates with other spoke via L-3 Route which in this case
would point to nextHOP of HUB and not the SPOKE.
Where as in RIP we learn the Route which directly points to the next hop
of the SPOKE for which we don't have L-3-L2 mapping; and not to the next
hop of HUB interface; So we are unable to pong from spoke to spoke

Hi Tech Lover,
I dont have spoke to spoke mapping i only have HUB to Spoke mapping.
If i remove rip & put opsf with network type ip os net po to multi it
works.
router rip
net 0.0.0.0
remove eith ospf as below
router os 1
network 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ar 0 ( & network type ip os net point-to-mul
)
its work fine. I can ping spoke to spoke & i learn all ospf routes.
If i map spoke to spoke it will work.
Question: (Note : HUB/SPOKE FR interface is main interface so by
default split hori is disable) 1. If i am learning network of one spoke
on another spoke why i cant ping in RIP case.
2. Do we need spoke to spoke mapping in RIP if yes why why???
Regards
Mike
