I have also Intel Core Duo 3gig with 2GB Memory 2CL So it is a very fast PC
but Before you start do a small experiment as it will save you a lot of
frustration:
on you win xp:
start only 3 routers and connect them over FR and try to ping from one to
another, add ospf or eigrp and try again
then install linux on that same pc (dual boot) run it on init 3:
try the same thing
you will clearly see a performance difference with a full lab if you will
run it more then 4 hours you will have some wired problems that you would
not encounter on the real equipment, also have as much cooling as possible.
