I usually wear just a nice jacket, the better quality BR type khakis (the
softer ones), and really good shirt (never white, not to dressy).
Have your jacket tailored to show your- watch, especially when your sitting
down!
I don't think a suit is necessary in IT, and it's a good indicator of the
place. If they are a place that wants everyone in suits- it's probably a
body shop.
That means you could be Yakhov Rehkter and you're still not going to get any
Credibility.

Just bouncing one off the off-topic wall here but wanted to get a feel from
others what your modus operandi is regarding suits at interviews given the
general line of work we're in.
Personally I go for a pair of trousers, some nice shoes and a smart short
sleeved shirt with an open collar. It's been years since I last wore a suit
for anything other than a wedding.
