Andrew,
Have you ever thought why this number is increasing? Unless you are paid
well and respected accordingly you wouldn't those many numbers. We shouldn't
forget that the networking market and the corresponding Cisco's share is
expanding much faster that the number of CCIEs. Moreover having one CCIE is
better than having not even one.

I think people loose side to the reason one gets for CCIE, we all have
personal reason to why we want to achieve this status, Andrew, if one
CCIE is not remarkable achievement that is wonderful, but One CCIE is
what I m going after for now, I might change later on down the road, I m
sure people said the same thing when it hit 10k. now let me go back to
configuring these export maps.

Everybody should decide for himself, but as to me - CCIE is not a
remarkable achievement anymore. Take a loot at the number, it says it
all. So if you still want to get to the hall of fame, you should get at
least two CCIE, three is better, 5 - is a group of people whom you can
count on your fingers. :)

Me too. I guarantee you it will soon say in job postings "CCIE with
number below 20000 preferred". Cause you know after 20000 the CCIE is
easy :-)
