I have several links like this in production right now. No problems so
long as you follow the standard setup of rules and common sense -
appropriate cable type, same type transmitter, etc.

As long as the optics are the same and you have your TX and RX crossed

Does anyone know, can I connect my SFP on my Catalyst 6500 directly to
the GBIC port on my Catalyst 3550?
