Hi George,
I have the same lab at home and Im looking at the solution myself.
Yes I believe it's quite possible you may have to filter things without being
asked to do it. Take mutual redistribution as one example where you may very
well need to filter but your are not asked to do it.
This isn't redistribution but that's an example of what I mean by that.
Im not sure why you need this particular filter, but I will look over the lab
once I finish my work today and see if I can spot the reason why it's needed.
Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary,
Do you want to say that even if they don't ask me to filter something I
have to filter something anyway? that's not exactly true, because I have to
filter something only if it's explicitly asked for.
Sorry I just don't get your point here.
According to which task or phrase do I have to filter that link?
in Task 1 they actually say that I must have connectivity between all
networks when I'm done with routing.
Many thanks,

HI George,
I note in the solution that connected interfaces are redistributed into
RIP
on R2. This includes that link. I suppose that just because you are not
asked to filter something that doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't do
it.
That may be the gist of it.
Regards
Gary
