HI,
If the question has to do with advertising the interface into the ospf
process without using the network command (i.e. do not use the 'network'
command under the ospf process itself), then you a few other options.
If they require the interface to be advertised into a particular ospf area,
then the 'ip ospf <process> area <area> could suffice. However, if they do
not indicate such a preference, then redistribution of the connected
interface into ospf would also do.
Of course this explanation is based on my understanding of your task tho. If
the question was referring to not modifying the ospf network type of the
interface, then Shiran and others have explained that already.
