Hi-

Group my scenario is very simple R1--- FR---R2. Those two are running Pim
sparse mode. My work book question says that R1 should join a multicast
group 224.4.4.4, after configuration, we should be able to ping this
address.

I have enabled the pim sparse mode between the two routers. But not able to
ping the address from R2. Do I need the static RP assignment in order for
this ping to work on a point to point
connection............................or I'm missing some thing here.
