Yes, this is like the test. They give you a section w/ say, 2-4 points. But in that section, there are multiple tasks. Drop any task, you drop the points for the section. Which means, you can screw up a few tasks and miss the mark (although, in terms of tasks, you scored > 90%)
In the example below, I used 33 questions, each w/ 4 tasks. Which is 132 total tasks. However, if you miss 1 task in 7 of the questions, you just dropped to 79%... although you only dropped 7 out of 132 "tasks", which is closer to 95% correct.

I figured it out. The premise that 80% is passing doesn't take into account that you must get all tasks per section to get the points. So if you figure... 3 points per "question", each question has 4 "tasks", and you only need to drop 1 task to drop all points for section... You can find that in reality, you need to score much greater than 90% to pass the lab. (assuming you are like me (and most), and you can solve the questions but occasionally will miss a task).
Anyway, I think it is academically interesting. My personal opinion is that 80% should be easy to get, but how it is structured can make all the difference, since we're not just passing 80% of the required tasks... we're having to pass closer to 95% of the required tasks.
