Slightly OT: A Quick Review of the New v3.0 CCIE Cert Guide Toc

Hi all,

The new v3.0 exam Cert Guide hit my doorstep today. I am just at the outset
of a CoD and also am working on another book, so it'll likely be a few weeks
before I tear into it. However, a quick review of the ToC and the Index
reveals that this is much more in alignment with the v3.0 exam content. I
was surprised to find only two pages of coverage on DMVPN, but whatever.
The L2 stuff appears to all be specific to the 3550 and 3560, which is great
news considering that we learned recently there are no HW changes under
consideration for the lab at the moment. I was also very impressed to see
that one of the technical reviewers is none other than Maurilio Gorito (the
CCIE certification Program Manager, lab proctor, and recent host of the
NetPro "Ask the Experts" CCIE R&S event). You can't ask for better than
that. It does from the Acknowledgements sound as though Odom was once again
distracted with other book projects during this update, so hopefully his
coauthors did well. Feel free to ask me to look up any specific topic in
the Toc or Index and I'll tell you in general terms if it's covered and what
the page count looks like, etc. I'll put together more comprehensive
thoughts once I've had a cover-to-cover read of it.

Regards all,

Scott
