Below is an example from Doc CD, which is a CAR configuration supporting
bursting.
interface hssi 0/0/0
rate-limit output 15000000 2812500 5625000 conform-action transmit
exceed-action drop
My question is, with the exceed action being a drop, how does this
configuration support bursting ? The rate is considered exceeding when
it is between Bc and Be in this
example. Normally for bursting support I would configure an exceed
action that was a transmit, but would mark down the Precedence or Dscp
so that the packet
would have a high probability of being dropped in the core if there
was congestion experienced.
Does it work differently with CAR ?
