Physical Topology never changes!

The diagram is a Logical Topology mean that R4 can be connected physicaly on
SW4 and R1 on SW1 but they will both be in the same broadcast domain (Same
VLAN).

Also there can be a request for you to make a R4 see like he is directly
connected to R1 and here you have QinQ come in.

and other scenarios like the above.

you need to get more reading about layer 2 switching VLAN / VTP /
SPANNING-TREE / QinQ...
under the cisco.com/univercd you can find it all.
