Hi
R7 (AS 2700)

R8 (AS 18 )

R9 (AS 2700)
BGP Setup:
If R7 is sending bgp prefixes to R9 in IBGP and R9 is neighbor with R8 EBGP.
The above diagram
shows the physical connections on the router.
The problem is when you try to ping
the prefixes received from R7 from R9, it causes a loop. R8 has learned the
prefix from R9 and the next hop is R9, the only path back for R9 is via R8
If I move R8 into AS 2700 (IBGP between R7 and R8 , R9 into AS (18) EBGP
between R8-R9 it all works fine.
The only way around this I can see is by setting the next hop on the
prefixes being received by R8 to R7.
Can anybody see any other way of doing this.
Thanks
