Basically, if you try to mix rapid-pvst+ with pvst+ you will not able
to take full advantage of rapid-pvst+. Majority of PVST+ enhancements
are already built into rapid-pvst+.

You can run both in the network during the migration phase, but you
would not able to enjoy faster convergence offered by rapid-pvst+.
