Jeffery,
Remember this golden rule for tags. Tag the higher administrative
distance protocol when it's redistributed into the lower administrative
protocol. Then deny these tagged routes from being redistributed back
into the higher administrative protocol. It's actually that simple.
Device X
route-map HIGHER-TO-LOWER permit 10
set tag <tag>
Device Y
route-map LOWER-TO-HIGHER deny 10
match tag <tag>
!
route-map LOWER-TO-HIGHER permit 20
